RHS Online: Gardening for All

Education

Education is a key part of the Society’s charitable work. We organise a wide array of educational activities including adult learning courses, horticultural training for those wishing to pursue a career in horticulture, a bursary scheme and examinations for professional and amateur gardeners. Schools can make free visits to all four RHS gardens if pre-booked and at Wisley we host schools in the new Clore Learning Centre. Continual Professional Development training is available for teachers and family events are a feature at all gardens. The newly launched Campaign for School Gardening provides support to teachers and students to get gardening in their schools.

Libraries

RHS libraries are part of the Lindley Library, the world's finest horticultural library. The largest and best-known branch is in London, but the Library at Wisley and the Garden Libraries at each of the RHS gardens are an important part of the Lindley Library.

Publications

The RHS is a publication powerhouse, producing a large number of publications, from magazines, to books and videos. But that's not all - we also publish the speakers' and judges' registers for clubs and societies, conservation and environment leaflets, the International Plant Registers, Plant Bulletins and the RHS Colour Chart.

Research

The scientific departments based at RHS Garden Wisley comprise a wide range of horticultural and plant disciplines. This is an active research group whose specialist scientific expertise and research findings support general horticultural information available from other advisory staff.
